Method one
Measure a ring you already wear
- 1. Take a ring that fits the finger you have in mind.
- 2. Lay a ruler across the inside of it and measure straight across the middle, in millimetres.
- 3. Find that figure in the Inside diameter column below.
Silver is meant to be worn. Here is how to keep it, and what to do when it needs our bench.
Put it on last and take it off first. Keep it away from perfume, hairspray, chlorine and seawater. Wipe it with a soft dry cloth after wearing and keep it in the pouch it came in — air is what tarnishes silver, not use.
No. Tarnish is a surface layer and it lifts off completely. Rub gently with the polishing cloth in your box. If it has gone very dark, send it to us and we will restore it.
Most plain and lightly set rings can be resized by one or two sizes. Eternity bands, heavily set pieces and some textured designs cannot. Send us a photograph and we will tell you honestly.
We service Carat Quest pieces first. For anything else, write to us with photographs and we will tell you whether our bench can help.
Polishing and re-plating are complimentary for the first year on any Carat Quest piece. Beyond that, and for structural work, we quote before starting. You never receive a bill you have not agreed to.
Every piece ships with a Certificate of Authenticity stating its purity and weight. If you need a valuation for insurance, ask us and we will prepare one.
